Today I’m proud to announce our first ever contest! The Computer Zone has been around for just over two months and I thought it would be a cool idea to throw a little Christmas Giveaway.
I’m really excited about this because it’s our first contest and the prizes are really good. Without further adieu here is the prize bundles:
- A one month 125×125 ad spot on JohnTP.com and a one month 16×16 or 12×12 ad spot on Chipseo.com
- ‘Under the Microscope’ review on Bloggingexperiment.com and a one month 125×125 ad spot on Thecompzone.com
- A blog review on Thecompzone.com
As you can see there are some great prizes there (totalling over $300). But now, how do you win them and how will the winners be decided? To enter the contest you need to do three really simple things:
- Blog about this contest. All you have to do is write a few lines detailing the contest and the prizes and link to this page as well as link to my main page with the anchor text ‘The Computer Zone’
- Subscribe to my feed so you can see who wins the contest
- Email me at adam[at]thecompzone.com with the url of your blog post.
Thats how easy it is. On December 24th I’ll close the contest and pick the winners. On December the 25th I’ll announce the winners on this blog.
Heres a quick recap of the contest:
- Begins: Today
- Ends: December 24th
- How to enter: Blog about this contest (and link to it), subscribe to my feed and email me the url of your post.
On the 25th I’ll do a random drawing from all of the emails I receive to see who wins which prize bundle.
Lately I haven’t been entering many Blog Contests, but today I decided that I would since I really really want to win the prize. My Blog Contests are holding a contest to generate buzz about their new toolbar, which has the following features
Current Features :
- Direct Contests search from your toolbar
- Fresh Contests via our RSS Feed
- Chat with fellow readers (and of course with me) just via the Toolbar
- Quick Links to all the categories here at My Blog Contests
- Submit Contests / Contact me directly from the toolbar
- Other Cool Gadgets that will come in handy often
I personally haven’t tried it out yet but I’m going to install it soon. The prize for this contest is an awesome little ring-type finger tip usb optical mouse. It looks kind of like a gimmick but I really want to try it. To see the details of the contest go here.
Well it’s barely 20 minutes into a new month and the first post is for AhTim.com Blogging Online Contest. Ahtim.com provides a strategy for ways to make money online.
Anyways I would totally suggest joining this contest. The prize isn’t much (only $6) but so far it’s only me in the runnings so you’d have a chance to win
Onto the review of his site.
Personally for my liking the balance between ads and content favours the ads a little too much. Don’t get me wrong, the content is there and the design of the site is solid. I just think that there is a little to much emphasis on ads and there should be more on the content of the site. The owner does a good job to keep a good posting schedule and the content is really good. I would totally advise visiting the site and reading what they have to say. If’ you’d like to subscribe to their feed you can do so here
Contests these days seem to be a dime-a-dozen. I come across 5-10 every single day and most of them I pass up because they’re so repetitive. Here’s the general format of a blog contest
- Sign up for my RSS
- Write an entry in your blog
- Favourite my blog on Technorati
- Jump through another few hoops
- Here’s your 1/100 chance to win $[insert monetary value here]
Now moneys great and all but the probability of you winning anything is really low. I’ve entered probably 50 blogging contests and so far have only won scar treatment from Darren’s Problogger contest.
Today I came across DayJobNuker’s website and found yet another blog contest. The reason why I found this one intriguing was because instead of cash they’re offering a 125×125 ad placement on their site. I think this is way more useful because it not only brings you in visitors but it also gets you better known around the blogosphere.
Anyways if you’re interested in a chance to win an ad placement on their site you can view the contest page here.
